Our kitchen
Fire, patience, and a short drive from the farm.
Chef Mara Ellison opened Pine & Plate after a decade cooking in Atlanta and a year apprenticing under wood-fire kitchens in the Carolinas. The idea was simple: build a restaurant on the Square where neighbors could eat food that tasted like Georgia — not a theme, just the season on the plate.
Every week Mara walks the Marietta Farmers Market and calls growers in Cartersville, Madison, and south Fulton County. The hearth does the rest — trout from North Georgia streams, pork from heritage farms, and vegetables that never sit in a cooler longer than a day.
“We’re not trying to impress anyone who’s eaten everywhere. We’re trying to feed the people who live here — well, often, and without pretense.”
